A Fire Blanket is essentially a highly ameresistant material, which can be used either to extinguish a minor re or to wrap around an individual that has caught alight. Fire blankets are suitable when the re is small, or Class F res. These res are typically caused by cooking fat oils. These types of res should not be doused with water and you should use a re blanket to put it out
